Local Club TT – Frightening to see the speed difference that Wiggo has over “Mortal man”, but not quite as frightening as a TT on dual carriageways with trucks, vans, cars and 1001 people with iPhones…

    Brilliant CT … Brilliant …

So I can now confidently say that Ryder is The Secret Pro.

Compare his comments today with what TSP said in his last blog. It’s the perfect decoy. :)

    • Salle de presse

Ryder obviously didn’t read CT’s recent article on concealed cycle motors then. That said, he has been hugely impressive in the second half of this race, I’m almost inclined to forgive his rather sheepish negotiation/avoidance of discussing or owning murky past. If only he could avoid the now routine early race brain fade that see’s him off as a GC contender. Is he riding the Tour after this, or will it be the Vuelta?

Impressive stuff from Girdlestone! Also those Bell helmets look awful….

  • Bracksy

Local club TT on the freeway – love it! Clearly, the same foolish, idiotic officials who designed the infamous criterium in America where the lady got run-over by riders.
As for George Bennett, he’s got better things to worry about than his Cortisone levels, such as his ridiculous looking helmet.

    • jules

i don’t find it ridiculous. I had one of those helmets. in 1985

      • Michele

I do feel a little bummed for Bennett. It was his major goal for the season, and he was so pumped for a good showing.

So much so, he had even arranged to get some maglia rosa themed racing accessories: just in case.

It’s just like fashion, or art or anything really. V.S. Ramachandran discussed the idea of incremental change built on a basic idea or innovation following a trajectory, until something different and captivating changes entirely what people see as a trend worth following (the peak shift effect). Hence how bicycle helmet design has almost reverted towards the stack hat, as modelled by the above gentleman, when wearing something so monstrous only a few years ago would have been unthinkable.

      • Sean

I still use my stack hat on occasion.

“Sh*t thats wiggins, i’ll just sit in behi….. nevermind”

    • its a bird its a plan

“bloody mamils in World Champ replica kits!…..oh wait”

    • C. Lilley

And to think Dowsett actually has gone quicker than that over the course Wiggins was racing that day. Totes amaze balls.

  • sli1

No comments on Contador’s attack when Landa was trying to get back to the peloton ?

    • Paolo

      Don’t piss of the boss.

  • Larry @CycleItalia

I think Tinkov’s bankrolling Campagnolo’s patent application – he wants a shift control in the TEAM CAR so he can micro-manage what gear each rider on his squad uses on the course!

God Awfull weather in the Tour des Fjords all the racers deserve a medal for sticking it out.
Those trucks passing riders on a TT give a nice speed boost to the racers.iPhone people tend to stop you dead when you hit them.
Its an old tradition having a TT on the open road although you have to keep alert for cars and trucks coming up behind you.
