This picture was taken in the early morning in Tibet. The picture is taken from the top of Pang La at about 5300m above sea level. The mountains you see in the background are the Himalaya (Everest is off to the left) and the descent, as you can see, involved a few switchbacks. Later that day I climbed to Everest Base Camp (back up to 5300m) and arrived on dark. The entire 100km day was spent above 4000m. -Brad
