Don’t miss out on the latest CyclingTips updates.
It was a relaxing day today and no one got too stressed out about the TT. Perhaps a little bit too laid-back. The woman’s winning time bettered than most of the Rapha guys. I’m trying to get John to make them ride the 250km Around The Bay loop on Sunday to punish them for their laid-backness.
I took the day off Twitter as there wasn’t too much exciting to tweet about until Wiggins took the stage. I didn’t think this TT would suit Wiggins since it was short and technical, but today he showed that he was here to race and not on vacation. One of his father’s final professional races was the Sun Tour and he clearly has personal reasons that he wants to win. Wiggins basically has it wrapped up as Cantwell cannot get enough intermediate bonus sprints to get the 32 seconds he needs.
Everyone took it easy today just sitting in front of the beach and having a laugh. Here’s some photos to show how laid back it was.
Enjoy the weekend and we’ll hopefully see you on Lygon Street for the crit tomorrow. Should be a great atmosphere!
