We’re into the third week of the Giro and we can always count on the mountains to turn the race on it’s head.   Here’s a picture of the shakeup in the GC after Stage 14:

As always, Matt Keenan has an excellent analysis of what he thinks will happen in the final week of the Giro.  After last night’s stage we can see that he wasn’t too far off his predictions.

The cream always rises to the top and Basso, Scarponi, Evans and Nibali show who the real contenders are.

Vino and Sastre are still in the race for Pink.

Look at those faces of pain trying to hold Richie’s wheel!

Arroyo (second wheel) takes 12th on the stage but is good enough to slip into pink by 39 seconds.

Nibali slips away on the descent and takes an exciting win. Now 6:51 back on GC. Flex those guns Vincenzo!

Basso, Scarponi, and Evans cross the finish 23 seconds behind Nibali and almost a minute ahead of Vino.

Spaniard David Arroyo takes pink, Richie in White.

Let’s not forget Mick Rogers in Yellow in the Tour of Cali!
