What a stage! Australia’s fourth win of the TdU and Cameron Meyer has turned the race upside down. The break that wasn’t supposed to stay away was miscalculated by the sprinters and Meyer now has the overall lead. No one would have guessed that would happen. These breakaways succeed once in a hundred times and it’s that tiny chance that keeps half the pelonton trying.

If Meyer can hold on over Wallunga tomorrow and keep the GC contenters from getting time bonuses (which his team will do for him), he’ll have this race in the bag.

I’ll keep it shorter than usual today, but as always we have some great photos that captured all the action. Enjoy your weekend and hopefully I’ll see some of you on Willunga hill tomorrow. It’s gonna be a hoot!
