As you might remember, Cadel Evans donated the bike he rode to defend his World Championship title in Geelong at at Giro di Lombardia to be auctioned off. This raised over $16,000 for the Manasarovar Academy which provides schooling facilities for children in Kathmandu.
The winner of the bike generously decided to leverage more money out of it for charity, and was able to obtain a raffle license with a charity he’s passionate about – CPEC (Cerebral Palsy Education Center).
From this raffle we have generated $75,000 to help towards equipment for children with CP. For a child with CP (or any physical disability) their needs are unique and often the required equipment is not commercially available and is cost is prohibitive. If you’re interested, read more about it on this blog.
The winning ticket is being drawn tomorrow. Please join us at Total Rush, 345 Punt Rd Richmond, Melbourne from 12.30pm. Raffle drawn at 1.00pm. Tim Mathieson will be doing the honors of picking the lucky winner and Lord Mayor Robert Doyle will be opening the proceedings. Stop by for lunch and say hello!
P.S. No, you do not need to be there to win.
