A big congratulations to Jack Cummings, Alexander Edmonson, Jackson Law, and Alexander Morgan for beating the Russia in the Junior Team Pursuit World Championships in 4:02.400. Not only did they win gold, they smashed it to set a new World Record (beating Russia’s record of 4:04.448 from 2009). These guys are Australia’s future stars and they’re off to a tremendous start.

I have to be honest, I don’t know a lot about these talented youngsters but what I do know is that Alex Morgan had the quickest ITT at the Tour of Bright last year (he was in B-grade at 16yrs old) and Jack Cummings won heaps of criteriums at Glenvale and Sandown last summer. Pretty darn good for a 17yr old to be able to win some of the the toughest crits in the world.

The Kiwi Juniors also raced their way to Bronze in 4:05 which would have been good enough for a silver medal if comparing times (the Russians rode a 4:07). Congratulations to Scott Creighton, Alex Frame, Fraser Gough, and Dylan Kennett!
