What a great result to wake up to this morning. No, the 180km Tour of Britain stage 5 was not the same as the World Championships, but it’s nice to see Renshaw finish off his season the same way as he started it. It was smart tactics by Cav (“At that point, I figured it was better to get first and second than first and fourth so I waited, let it go a bit”) which also showed his class and recognition towards his teammate. Even though Renshaw will be given his own opportunities with Rabobank, I’ll miss seeing him and Cav work together so perfectly. It’s something that will go down in cycling history.
Not to mention the other Aussies finishing in the top 10: Matty Hayman (Sky) and Zac Dempster (Rapha Condor Sharp) with 6th and 7th! Well done fellas!

Have a great weekend and hopefully I’ll see some of you at Amy’s Gran Fondo on the Great Ocean Road. Also, good luck to everyone doing New South Wales’ oldest bike race, the Gouldburn to City (est. 1902)!
