Today’s final race of the year the Merle Jamieson Christmas Handicap was won in gale force winds in a sprint finish by 3rd scratch ride Shayne Kirby from a bunch of 13 remaining. Scratch had the hardest ride finishing only 57sec behind the win despite only 4 riders.
