Cycling Australia has rewarded Tasmania’s Bernard Sulzberger for his ride in yesterday’s national titles by naming him in the UniSA-Australia team for the Santos Tour Down Under. Sulzberger was in the leading group for 190km of the 195km elite men’s road race before dropping out of medal contention in the closing stages.

Newly crowned Under 23 road race champion Jordan Kerby of Queensland has also been selected after his performance at the championships and the recent Jayco Herald Sun Tour.

The seventh and final rider named is Jayco Herald Sun Tour champion, Victorian, Calvin Watson.

The UniSA-Australia team for the 2013 Santos Tour Down Under will be led by Team Manager Dave Sanders includes riders:

– Zachary Dempster
– Anthony Giacoppo
– Damien Howson
– Jordan Kerby
– Adam Phelan
– Bernard Sulberger
– Calvin Watson

The 2013 Santos Tour Down Under will be held in Adelaide and regional South Australia from 20 to 27 January 2013. On Sunday 20 January the world’s cycling elite will contest an exciting 51km circuit race, the People’s Choice Classic as the curtain raiser for the six stage Santos Tour Down Under being raced over a total distance of 758.5km.
