In 2012 it was Gangnam Style. In 2013, it’s the Harlem Shake that’s gone viral, spawning videos from all around the world. The concept is simple: the videos start with an individual dancing alone before cutting to a group dancing together wildly when the beat drops. And just as it did when the Call Me Maybe craze hit, the cycling world has put its own spin on the Harlem Shake. The Danish national track team recorded a version featuring riders on rollers and massage tables. And the Omega Pharma-Quickstep team came to the party too, with a civilised game of pool taking a turn for the worse.
THREE SIMPLE RULES
1. You get 30 seconds.
2. Begin with one person wearing something on their head dancing mildly to Harlem Shake.
3. Right at 15 seconds on the dot, right with the beat drops, grab everyone you know and cut to all your firends shaking their tailfeathers!
Any cycling teams or clubs out there who want to submit their own Harlem Shake? Send it in and we’ll feature the best ones.
