Omloop Het Nieuwsblad In Photos

by CyclingTips

It’s still winter in Europe but the Spring Classics have begun in earnest. And while the riders in Saturday’s Omloop Het Nieuwsblad would have been hoping for fine weather to start the Classics season, Mother Nature had other ideas and the race was held in near-freezing temperatures.

The race was won by Luca Paolini (Katusha) who outsprinted Stijn Vandenburgh (Omega Pharma-Quick-Step) after the two riders broke away from a 10-man breakaway after the race’s final climb.

Our Belgian photographer Kristof Ramon was there to capture the action and brought back these spectacular images.
