Every wonder how the leaders jerseys are printed so quickly before podium presentations? Wonder no more. We went backstage at the Dubai Tour to see what goes on behind the podium to ensure nothing is done in halves.

The race organisation sources all the printed logos – teams don’t have to look after it. Podium jerseys are often different (i.e. they zip up at the back so they’re easy to get on during presentations). So often a different jersey is worn the next day (which is also supplied by the race organiser, not the team).

For custom helmets, shoes, bibs, etc, these are often sourced by the manufacturer at a moments notice. In some team’s Service Course you’ll often see stashes of yellow, green, polka dot helmets and other accessories for when they’re needed.
