Onboard cameras are commonly used in motor sports and for some time now professional cycling broadcasters and race organisers have had some catching up to do. Now that the technology is available and all parties are willing, on-board cameras have made their debut at the Tour de France in a trial over the three weeks of racing. Every day, four riders from two different teams have carried Shimano Sport Cams on their bikes and have brought us back the footage. The riders turn the camera on themselves as they’ll approach the key moments of the race.
