What You Missed This Morning Photo Competition Winners 2014/15

by CyclingTips

Entries are now closed in the CyclingTips What You Missed This Morning photo competition for 2014/15. We were inundated with incredible photos from your rides, We’re pleased to announce the winners and the terrific prizes they’ll take home.

After receiving more than 5,000 entries we selected 100 of our favourite shots and then handed the decision to an expert panel of judges.

Here are the winners:

1st place

What the judge said (Wade Wallace): “@twopagewayne (the rider) and @chipriggs (the photographer) submitted a lot of outstanding images throughout Christmas and this one was the most unique. We’re not sure the technical extent to which this photo was taken, but even if it had been taken on a DSLR with lighting, that’s fine with us. We love seeing the bar for this competition being raised every year and guys like this make that happen”.

So cold! ???? #wymtm #outsideisfree #lightbro #moravia #focusbikes @cyclingtips

What the judge said (Kristof Ramon): “Everything immediately feels right in this picture: the light, the composition, the landscape, the bike/shadow.
The atmosphere and the shadow of the bike drew me in. It feels cold (as he mentioned it was) and it makes me want to ride my bike. A winner”.

Scott Premium Road Shoes

RRP: $375

4th place

What the judge said (Jered Gruber): “Can’t argue with light like that – or a road like that. Absolutely gorgeous”.

Drift Innovation Stealth II HD Action Camera and mount

RRP: $370 each

5th place

What the judge said (Veeral Patel): “There were alot of images to go through but this image I kept coming back to. What I liked about this shot was the simplicity and the effective use of perspective leading your eye to the crest. Secondly, you can’t help think at what point do I channel Spartacus and crush my mates to get to the crest first. This is one of those images that motivates you to ride that little bit harder!!!!!”.

New year, new rides around Australia #wymtm @cyclingtips

What the judge said (Ashley Gruber): “I love baby animals and animals in general. It’s cool that it’s a kangaroo, but I’d jump for this if it were pretty much any animal. That would make my month to have that little guy that close to my bike.”.
