Cyclist and parked car… A Froomism?

      TV Tommy Voeckler says hello.

  • bikefreek

Looking at the top picture, I think Contador gave birth to an idiot.

    • Dale Smith

Ha ha ha! Hilarious. And you can see the thought going through his mind “what would happen if I accidentally let go of this big heavy trophy?”

  • Michele

Noticed with the guy who rode into the car how his back wheel continued to spin afterwards.

Def got a motor on that bike as well ;)

    That video made my day!

    • Steve

I am in TEARS! :) Why was his head down? Possibly checking to see if he is getting to his max speed or max HR? :)

  • Michele

If Contador were to win the Tour de France, he’d be the first rider ever [as far as I can tell], to be the reigning champion of all 3 grand slams.

In a way I hope he doesn’t. I simply can’t see how he can turn around and with the Tour without some form of non-sanctioned assistance.

    • Kieran Degan

I’m in two minds. I would love to see someone do the double, from a sporting perspective, but agree with you, it could raise doubts.

But, the tour will be a different story anyway. No long time trial means you need a team mate present at all times, and you cannot afford a bad day in the mountains/cobbles. It will be the same problem for Nibbles and Froome. Quintana is my favourite. Decent team for TTT, pretty world class domestique in Valverde (if he works for him) and unparalleled climbing ability. Or dare I say Purito! If there is ever a tour he can win it is this.

My estimation of Contador has just risen significantly. A selfie stick just over the heads of the peloton is an insult to the riders.

    • Kieran Degan

I don’t know if I can live in a world where selfie sticks exist.

You can and must go on. Someone has to survive to send John Connor back in time to destroy their creator.

        • Faz

To be fair it wasn’t a selfie stick rather a pole with what appears to be a go pro mounted to it. Fair enough if it was in the face of the riders but Contador had to reach a significant distance to make contact with it. It’s just another thing that makes him such an ignorant rider. He continually shows himself to have some sense of entitlement and the sooner he’s knocked down a peg or two the better.

          • sli1

You read all that into his personality from knocking down a camera hanging out into peloton on the end of a pole ?

            • Faz

No, but what I did do was qualify my statement by saying “it’s just another thing” which means I didn’t view this incident in isolation without taking into account similar ones.

  • Derek Maher

    Well done Alberto great win.
    Next task the TDF.
Plus congrats to those lovely podium ladies who kept smiling and elegant for every stage.
