Last-minute entries available for our gran fondo this weekend

Don’t miss out on the latest CyclingTips updates.

It’s just five days until the inaugural Giro della Donna gran fondo and CyclingTips HQ is a hive of activity and nervous anticipation. We’re just pulling together the finishing touches for what is set to be a terrific day out.

If you missed out on a spot in the ride but you’re keen to come along, you’re in luck. We’ve had a number of last-minute cancellations in the past week and we now have a handful of places available, today only.

If you are interested in a spot, we recommend you get in quick — there aren’t many places available and they will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis. You can register here.

In case you haven’t been following along, here’s a quick snapshot of the ride:

Distance: 107km
Elevation gain: 2,700m
Length of unsealed roads: 13km

There are two major climbs: the 20km ascent of Reefton Spur (with a full road closure) and the 9km ascent from Cement Creek to the summit finish atop Mt. Donna Buang. You can read a full breakdown of the course and what to expect here.

As great as the route is — and it is great — that’s only part of the Giro della Donna experience. We’re working with some great partners to help make this event much more than just a bike ride. We’ll have nutrition support from Skratch Labs and Bonk Breaker, on-course mechanical support from Shimano, and an after party with beer from Bridge Road Brewers, wine from Sam Miranda and Skratch Labs’ famous burritos.

Specialized, Jaguar, Sufferfest and Castelli will also have some fantastic takeaways for all participants and there’ll be a momento worth climbing your way to the summit of Mt. Donna Buang for.

So if you want to come along and be part of a great ride and a memorable festival of cycling, get in now and secure your ticket.

We hope to see you out in Warburton on Sunday morning!
