He’s still got another month before he’s officially in his first pro season with the Etixx – Quick-Step squad but Marcel Kittel has been chosen to show off the new team kit.

The German sprinter, who won four Tour stages in 2013 and again in 2014, has moved to the team from Giant-Alpecin and will be its number one sprinter in 2016. He slots into the space left vacant by Mark Cavendish and if things go to plan, he will be back up to full speed after a subdued 2015.

When on form Kittel is arguably the fastest sprinter in the bunch. He believes he can reach the top again, blaming illness and a too-quick return after that for his poor form.

If he and his new team do gel and fire at 100 percent, he’ll be in the running for stage wins in the Tour and, given the nature of the course, will also be considered one of the favourites for the world road race championships in Qatar.

Before then, he’ll spend many months in the Etixx – Quick-Step kit chasing results in other races. Watch the video below to see the new look that he and others will wear in training and competition.
