What does it take to win a stage of the Bay Crits?

Since 1989 the Bay Crits have had a reputation of being some of the toughest and most competitive criteriums in the World. Past winners include Simon Gerrans, Greg Henderson, Mark Renshaw, Matt Goss, Caleb Ewen, Robbie McEwen, Baden Cooke and many others.

This year’s stage 3 was won by local semi-pro rider Pat Shaw (Avanti IsoWhey) in Portarlington — arguably the toughest of the four circuits. It was the biggest and best win of his career.
