Happy with the team’s results and exposure, Boels Rental and Dolmans Landscaping Group today announced that they have extended their sponsorship agreement with UCI Dolmans-Boels Cycling Team by an additional two years, until the end of 2018.
The two companies first joined forces in 2012, and has since watched the team become one of the best teams in women’s cycling.
“Under the direction of Director Sportif Danny Stam, the Boels-Dolmans Cycling Team has grown significantly in recent years and this year there is a solid and close-knit team of international top riders. The Dolmans-Boels Cycling Team is one of the defining teams in the women’s squad, which in recent years has managed to secure many victories. For the coming years, the bar is set high: our ambition is to become the best team in the world,” stated Erwin Janssen, director of Dolmans Landscaping Group.
And they seem to be well on there way, absolutely dominating the early season, winning all three UCI Women’s WorldTour races held thus far.
While this offers great exposure for the sponsors, it allows DS Danny Stam to continue building his team with peace of mind, knowing the financial support is there.
This is a luxury most teams do not have, especially when this Olympic year comes to an end. Rabo-Liv for example will be looking for new tittle sponsors for 2017 and onward. Earlier this year, Rabobank, a fixture in cycling sponsorship since 1996, announced that it will end its relationship with Rabo-Liv (and pro cycling as a whole) at the end of 2016. Other teams are likely in the same boat, and we wouldn’t be surprised to see a lot of changes at the end of this year.
