FSA has partnered with Power2Max to produce a line of own-brand power meters with independent left/right data, an automatic zero offset, and a claimed battery life of 300-400 hours. Road versions will be offered with either solid-forged aluminum or hollow carbon fiber arms.

Have Giro officially announced the HV Empires yet? No need for photos as I’m sure they look like normal Empires…

    • James Huang

Don’t know, but I’ll check tomorrow.

      • david__g

        Thank you James!

        • James Huang

Nope, no official announcement yet, but I’m told it’ll probably be sometime around March/April or so.

          • david__g

            Excellent, thank you!

  • Mitch Hopkins

Can you provide some details on the new Litespeed T2 and T2 disc?
    Thanks

    • James Huang

      Will do tomorrow!

      • Mitch Hopkins

        Awesome. Thank you.

        • James Huang

Sorry, turns out Litespeed wasn’t really here.

  • Dreen

    Anything new from Wallerang E-Bikes?

    • James Huang

Not sure they’re here? I’ll check.

      • Dreen

        Wallerang E-Bikes Booth #5235

        • James Huang

Sorry, ran out of time! Never made it there before things shut down on Friday.

  • MattF

Internal cam skewers – if there’s one takeaway message from the Angry Asian that I have heeded and passed on, that’s it. Why do supposedly high end wheel manufacturers and wheel builders persist with the poor performing alternative?

    • James Huang

      Simple: money.

      • James Huang

Update: Rolf Prima has purged external-cam skewers from its lineup. External cams across the board. Woo hoo!

  • Dave

Is it just me or does the Norco junior roadie have a flat front tyre?

    Oops!

    • James Huang

Show bikes often aren’t in particularly good states of tune. Look – but not too closely ;)

    • Jobu

Naaahh, that is just some super plush carpet. Nothing but the best for those workaholic cycling tech reporters.

  • velocite

This is much better than meandering around in person, interesting selection and classy photography.

On tyres, what does Maxxis mean by ‘tubeless-ready’? Is it the same as ‘tubeless’?
I think Schwalbe used to say just ‘tubeless’ but now they say ‘tubeless easy’, which somebody said meant the same thing but sealant was a must.

    • Warwick

Yep same thing, tubeless ready just means can be set up tubeless but requires sealant. Generally true Tubeless tires are quite heavy with thick sidewalls to stop any air escaping, and no sealant is required to complete the set up but a small amount may be used in case of punctures.

      • velocite

Thanks for that. Academic point for me really, since I’ll always use sealant anyway. But I’ve never used sealant for set up, always put it in afterwards. That’s with Maxxis and Schwalbe Ones. They don’t seem to lose pressure noticeably overnight.

  • JustinNL

Thanks for stopping by the Bont booth! I am really excited about their new collection, the new colors look fantastic.

    • Liam Cahill

I’m itching to get a pair of the new Riot XC for cyclocross. Why do they have to keep us waiting so long?

  • Ypuh

Will there be any new low-mid range Smart trainers? Tacx Vortex/Bushido or Bkool competitors? Looking to pick one up but there might be a pricedrop soon

    • James Huang

Wahoo Fitness has the KICKR SNAP for US$699, which offers computer controlled electromagnetic resistance like the top-end KICKR but without the direct-drive format and a more conventional frame. I’ve included a picture in the day two coverage.

  • Simon Blackburn

Great coverage and top photos guys. Please keep your peepers open for any new triathlon gear. Eurobike looked remarkably quiet for tri bikes so hopefully more to see in Vegas. Always assuming that the brands don’t delay the launch of their primo gear until Ironmn Hawaii in October.

  • joby

Can you show the Time Sport 2017 range?

    • James Huang

I’ll see if I can squeeze in a walk-through tomorrow. If nothing else, I want to check it out for myself! ;)

  • Andrew

Any additional information about those Skinwall Schwalbe X-Ones? Those look killer but I can’t find anything online?

  • valiumct

Certainly looks like the Endo wall mount can hold bikes by front OR rear wheel, per the pic.

    • James Huang

Ha, true. I’ll revise that caption.

  • santiagobenites

I honestly can’t stop myself ogling at all these new bike things, while involuntarily drooling and muttering things like ‘oooh’ and ‘ahhh’ to myself. Is there something wrong with me? I find it difficult to control myself from lusting over those beautiful new Bont shoes, I’m blown away by the minimalist design of that Cycloc Hero bike ‘shelf’, and please don’t even get me started on the Knog Oi bell, which could possibly be considered one of the most radical redesigns of one of cycling’s oldest and most popular components. My best friend refers to it as bike porn, and it truly is. Thanks so much for presenting everything with such great photography.

    • Dave

The Knog bells are now starting to ship to Kickstarter backers.
