BMC wins Eneco TTT, Dennis back into lead

by CyclingTips

BMC’s Rohan Dennis reclaimed the overall lead at the Eneco Tour thanks to his team’s win in the team time trial. BMC won by six seconds over Etixx-QuickStep and 23 seconds ahead of LottoNL-Jumbo on the 20.9km course.

Dennis now has a 16 second lead in the overall on his teammate Taylor Phinney and 24 seconds on Tony Martin (Etixx-QuickStep). Former race leader Peter Sagan (Tinkoff) is now fourth at 27 seconds.

“I’m really proud of the guys’ performance today,” said director sportif Fabio Baldato. “We knew that they were strong and had trained well for the team time trial, but to win by that margin is a really good result. We wanted to put in valuable time over Peter Sagan and Tinkoff which we did, and we also put Rohan Dennis back in the lead and really strengthened our position in the General Classification.

“A result like that gives us confidence ahead of the UCI World Championships and we’ll work hard to refine our team time trial even more. Now we need to focus on the GC and put all of our energy into defending our lead in the next two days.”

47,000km on the same route? That sounds dire!

(CT – can you make the links open in a new tab pls?)

    • Jason de Puit

Just hold Cmd (Mac) or Ctrl (PC) when you click them.

I’ve said it here before and it angers me time and time again. CT pretty please STOP posting videos posted on Facebook only. Plenty of peeps read this excellent site that are not on this ridiculous narcissistic garbage site. It’s frustrating if you’re really keen to watch something by the description and then the link ends up on the fbook login page.

    • If it is the only place it is posted then CT can only share that link. Your decision to not have a FB account should not mean that the rest of us should not be alerted to the content we are interested in. (Excuse the triple negative.) In other words, most of us probably have it and want to see it. Why should we miss out just because you choose not to be on FB?

With you MadBlack, would be better if all content was available without restriction (in this case to FaceBook users).

Trek have released images of Fabian’s face with bee sting swelling. I have to say I don’t remember it, was it well publicised at the time? I’d like to believe him, but I’ve got my doubts. The swelling looks bad, but IM steroids? That swelling is as bad as it would have got and it would have gone away in several days with no treatment, so did he really need it?

  • Mark

Maybe the question could be asked “Are the TUE’s being released (by internet hackers) genuine?”
The pro rider Fuglsang we usually see racing rides Road, not “Discipline – Mountain Bike”
