Felline wins Trofeo Laigueglia

by Mark Zalewski

Trek-Segafredo’s Fabio Felline, racing for the Italian national team, attacked solo in the closing kilometres of the Trofeo Laigueglia, winning by nearly 30 seconds ahead of Romain Hardy (Fortuneo – Vital Concept) and Mauro Finetto (Delko Marseille Provence KTM).

The main break consisted of Remy Di Gregorio, Ettore Carlini, Connor Dunne, Antonio Di Sante and Davide Orrico. The peloton let them have an advantage of three minutes but brought them back with 15km to go. That is when Felline made his move and the peloton hesitated too long.

The twisting descent gave Felline an advantage that he held all the way to the finish.
