WOMEN'S CYCLING BROUGHT TO YOU BY ORBEA
We are less than a week away from the 2017 Amgen Breakaway from Heart Disease Women’s Race empowered with SRAM, where 17 teams will battle for the coveted yellow leader’s jersey over the course of four days and 256.6 miles (412.9 kms).
Commonly known as the Women’s Tour of California, the 10th round of the UCI Women’s WorldTour is taking place May 11-14, alongside the men’s Amgen Tour of California. We’ll be on site to give you the inside stories and, for the first time, we’re given you a chance to do the interviewing.
Together with Specialized Women, we’re excited to announce that we’re hosting a special Facebook Live Q & A event with the Boels-Dolmans squad on May 9th.
Moderated by Ella Editor Anne-Marije Rook, riders like Olympic champion Anna van der Breggen and last year’s Women’s WorldTour winner Megan Guarnier will field your questions so be sure to tune in!
The Q & A will take place May 9th at 1:15 p.m. PST (22:15 p.m. CET) on the Ella CyclingTips and SpecializedWMN Facebook pages.
Can’t tune in? Send your questions in ahead of time! Just submit your questions in the comments section below and we’ll be sure to get them answered.
Anna van der Breggen celebrates as she soloes across the finish at Fleche Wallonne.
The most dominating team of 2016, Boels-Dolmans is having another great spring season. The team has already claimed 10 big victories, including an unprecedented ‘Ardennes Triple‘ with Olympic champion and new team member Anna van der Breggen winning the Amstel Gold Race, Fleche Wallonne and Liège-Bastogne-Liège all within a week.
This kickstarted an ongoing winning streak for the Dutch-registered team with Christine Majerus winning the Festival Elsy Jacobs stage race in her home country of Luxembourg while former world champion Lizzie Deignan soloed to victory in front of her home crowd at Tour of Yorkshire.
As defending champions of the Tour of California (Megan Guarier won it last year), they’ll be going into the week as top favourites. How do they do it? Who will they race for? Is it worth traveling all the way to the US for just one event? How important are team tactics? Ask them yourself by tuning in during the Facebook Live event or submitting your questions ahead of time in the comment section below.
