A CLEANER WAY TO MOUNT YOUR GARMIN

The latest creation from Melbourne-based bicycle component company, Fetha

We’re excited to be working with Melbourne brand Fetha Custom Components again and showcasing the company’s streamlined Garmin mounts in the CyclingTips Emporium – this time with an exciting new addition.

Fetha began in 2011 when Zimbabwean-born engineer Jamie Riedy combined his love of cycling and his mechanical expertise, and started playing around to work out what bike parts he could make. He started off making himself an upgraded seat topper for his integrated seatpost.

“The feedback I got from other riders was really positive and this encouraged me to pursue custom cycling bits a little more,” Jamie told us. “From there I started getting enquiries from people asking me to produce custom components right from mounts to custom chainrings including elliptical and narrow/wide profiles.

“Things started to gain momentum so the next logical step was to set up a business specialising in bicycle components.”

Fast forward six years and Jamie has his eyes on the big brands in the bike accessories space. The brand has found a niche with a range of polished solutions for mounting your Garmin to almost any handlebar/stem setup.

“With a large number of bike brands heading towards aero handlebars (integrated and non-integrated) it has made it difficult to attach traditional mounts to the bars,” Jamie said. “Not only this but all brands seem to differ slightly in terms of bolt pitching or position – this is where Fetha fills a niche, customising components to suit these products.”

The aim of all Fetha mounts is to be robust yet light, and as inconspicuous as possible when your Garmin unit is in position (because we think that once your Garmin is on your bike you should hardly see the mount).

We love the adjustable faceplate mounts — they’re one of the cleanest setups we’ve seen and allow for a high degree of adjustability. These mounts have proven extremely popular on the Emporium in the past and Jamie has just added a streamlined version to his lineup.

One question we received a lot when we first worked with Fetha was: “My faceplate bolts are close together, do you have a mount to suit my stem?” The answer to that question was “no”, until now …

Today, we’re pleased to say Fetha has developed a faceplate Garmin mount for narrow-width faceplate bolts, as featured on a range of popular 3T, Zipp and Ritchey stems.

These Garmin mounts are CNC-machined to specifically suit stems with a 9mm bolt pitch, and are long enough to accommodate all Garmin models from 500 to 820 (1000 option coming next week!) These are static mounts and are incredibly strong and functional.

If you like simplicity and take pride in a clean bike we think you’ll love Jamie’s range of Garmin mounts, all of which are designed and made in Australia.
