After four days of competition, the track cycling events at the 2018 Commonwealth Games came to a close on Sunday. Perhaps unsurprisingly it was the host nation, Australia, that ended up on top of the medal tally, taking a total of 10 gold medals and 20 medals in all.

Commonwealth Games records tumbled all over the place, and a couple of world records fell as well. Most impressively, Australia’s men’s 4000m team pursuit squad was the first ever to go under 3:50, taking gold with a time of 3:49.804.

CyclingTips photographer Tim Bardsley-Smith was in Brisbane to capture all the action from the four days of track racing. The gallery below is a selection of his best images.
