INTRODUCING: THE LUMIERE SEASONS COLLECTION
Since their beginnings in 2015, we’ve had the opportunity to launch numerous ranges with Lumiere, we’ve collaborated on exclusive product and we’ve featured the journey of the brand’s founders and designers Matt, Joe and Mireille. Today we release the Seasons Collection which really plays on the transition out of summer into autumn, then into the depths of winter.
THE SEASONS COLLECTION
Organic graphic shapes and patterns have always been a part of the Lumiere aesthetic. Where does this come from?
“Our patterns and colours for each collection have from the initial inception of Lumiere been always been hand selected and created by Mireille, Joe’s wife, who has an Interior Design background and brings a different perspective to our design process. This is evident as our design aesthetic and point of view is not similar to any cycling brands currently out there, ultimately providing us that signature Lumiere look.”
AUTUMN IN AUSTRALIA:
“We chose to venture out into the hills for this shoot and we knew Macedon, Victoria would provide the goods this time of the year. It gets an 11/10 for Autumn vibes, with tree lined streets and beautiful rolling hills, just on the outskirts of the city. Mother Nature delivered and we were given some amazing morning light amongst the Autumn colours.
Harold Lord shot many of the images on a vintage manual Pentacon lens which really captured the mood and colours of the collection. It’s not hard to see where our colour inspiration came from when you’re riding through these hills.”
We’ve seen you’ve introduced some new bibs into your range, is this simply a colour update?
“Not exactly. Our new olive bibs feature a fully pre-dyed olive fabric, heat bonded leg seams and also has a new chamois. The chamois been tested by our riders over summer and given the thumbs up for comfort and longevity. Utilising a molded design it moves away from traditional bonded technologies in order to improve comfort by reducing the number of pressure points created by traditional manufacturing techniques.
We have also brought back our now staple Lumiere winter beanie in a new design! These are limited each winter season, so grab one whilst you can. Once they are gone, they are gone!”
