Slowly but surely MAAP kits became the local rage here in Melbourne. They were a flavour of their own and they weren’t trying emulate anyone else. Jarrad came from the fashion industry and Ollie from the apparel industry (formerly of Globe) and it eventually became apparent to me that this was no overnight Insta-brand. Our first collaboration together was on the ‘Echappée Kit’ which was one of our best selling kits, and I still wear mine to this day.
Jump ahead nearly 5 years and MAAP is well and truly one of the most popular cycling apparel brands on Earth, and growing. I’m thrilled to see their success and to partner with them to celebrate this special occasion; CT’s 10 year anniversary.
Utilise MAAP’s unique styling and interpretation to evolve the original CT kit that was first done 10 years ago. Something that speaks to the initial days of CT, while showing a bright future ahead.
It only took a few iterations to come up with this final design, and I think they nailed it. Look close and you’ll notice the old CyclingTips logo, the vertical stripes that were reminiscent of the old Carpano jersey (which the original CT jersey was inspired by) but this new version doesn’t look like a Collingwood jersey.
I hope you like it as much as we do.
…And if the kit isn’t you, maybe some of our new tees are? Celebrating a decade of CyclingTips, we have a special 10 Year Anniversary tee in black, grey marle and white. For those that are frequently out hitting the roads before dawn, we have a WYMTM (CT readers will know where this came from) tee in three colours.
