Lumiere’s latest collection is a simplification on recent ranges, with the new collection focusing on simple colour blocking designs in tonal colours, for an elegant and timeless take on the modern cycling jersey. The Lumiere range uses Italian MITI fabrics that create a high stretch, luxurious feel, cut in a firm pro fit. Colour inspiration for the basics di nuovo collection came from the founder’s recent trip to Italy and there’s a summer warmth from the palette selection that ensures there’s a jersey to suit whatever mood you’re in.
Lumiere’s latest Basics Collection colour ways were inspired by their team’s recent trip to Italy. Surrounded by the hills of the Chianti; from the sunbaked terracotta clay to the dirty, yet pure, white gravel roads in Tuscany. The jerseys were aptly named after the fleet of Fiat 500’s that they drove, discovering everything that this incedible region had to offer.
In true Italian style, the personas of the cars themselves translated into the names of their jerseys; meet Topsy, Olivia, Fernando, Roberto and Terra in a combination of men’s and womens specific short sleeve jerseys.
Lumiere has always challenged the norm and embraced the beauty of cycling. The quintessential representation of the brand ethos was shown in their first “team” (and by team they actually mean their now Italian family) taking part in the L’Eroica ride last month. The whole experience was mind blowing. The humble appreciation of the bike itself in such a community truly showcases the love of cycling with the surrounding small villages proud to share their local produce free of charge.
Rest stops comprising of wine, salami, bread and local fruit was all provided with a smile and a pat on the back to encourage the rest of your journey and what a journey that was. Finishing the day in the vintage designed Lumiere kit, a cigar (from their Italian sponsors, cigar company Italico) and a glass of vino, the ladies and gents at Lumiere say “Salute” and hope their collection is just as well received.
