Lumiere x Barry Spencer Design Collection

This content was produced for the CyclingTips Emporium.

At the CyclingTips Emporium we curate the best and most unique cycling brands from around the globe and help you discover them all in one place.

At the Emporium we love collabs. Lumiere in actual fact started when two work mates (Matt and Joe) decided to collaborate and design a cycling jersey. Lumiere has just released the first iteration of its new artist series, and we’re excited to launch the first artist collaboration of this series on the Emporium.
For this initial iteration of the Artist Series, Lumiere were thrilled at the idea of working with Barry Spencer, who labels himself as a Speculative Type Designer, based in Melbourne, Australia. Barry tells people, “I often make letters that may or may not look like letters.”
His type developed into patterns, which then morphed into grids and sketchbooks and has now, for the first time, been translated onto fabric. The Whirlygig, Conduit and Motif jerseys are combinations of type and grids that allowed for Barry to translate his designs with movement on the bike in mind. The colour palette is muted but the designs are bold.
