With the Giro d’Italia and Amgen Tour of California running simultaneously, along with all sorts of tech and doping hubbub, it’s been a big week in cycling.
Here’s what we’ve covered on the site:
Neal Rogers, in his latest ‘Weekly Spin’ column, brought an entertaining interview with George Bennett back from California.
Dane Cash reported on the tumultuous finish of yesterday’s Amgen Tour of California stage.
Marcel Kittel announced that he was taking some time away from the sport; we pulled together a photo gallery celebrating the highlights of his career.
We published a fantastic feature from CyclingTips contributor Philip Malcolm on Roger De Vlaeminck.
Zeb Woodpower took a look at the renewed focus for Mitchelton-BikeExchange – the China-based feeder program for Mitchelton-Scott.
And, with this weekend’s Australian federal election looming, Iain Treloar assessed what each of the major political parties are offering cyclists.
On the tech front this week:
Caley Fretz pondered how to pick the ideal gravel tyre.
Dave Rome checked out a sumptuous aero disc road bike … made out of wood. More conventionally, he also reviewed the Giant Revolt Advanced 0 gravel bike.
James Huang assessed a much improved aero helmet from Lazer, and covered the launch of the new Santa Cruz Stigmata.
Iain Treloar looked at the latest round of results from Virginia Tech, and the battle between WaveCel and MIPS.
And of course, there was the latest episode of the CyclingTips Podcast.
So – background reading out of the way, it’s time for the Weekly Quiz. This week, it only seemed right for us to take a look at the Giro d’Italia.
