Don’t miss out on the latest CyclingTips updates.
Over the past three weeks, in partnership with Rapha Custom, we’ve been asking you to design kit to match a range of themes. We’ve had your best interpretations of a Spring Classics themed kit, and we’ve had you design the next CyclingTips kit. In the final week of the competition, conducted in the lead-up to the Grande Partenza in Bologna over the weekend, the theme was the Giro d’Italia.
Vying for the chance to win a set of Rapha Pro Team kit in their design (along with a set for four of their friends), we saw dozens of unique and eyecatching designs come in from all around the world.
We then sent the designs through to one of the peloton’s more unique and eyecatching riders – EF-Education First’s Lachlan Morton – to pick out a winner. Here’s what he had to say:
In third place, David Murphy, with a design “inspired by the team jersey Stephen Roche was wearing in 1987 when he made the infamous attack that began his triple crown campaign, a moment in Giro legend”:
In second place, Serban Popin, with a clean design that draws on the Italian flag and the pink of the Maglia Rosa:
But there can be only one winner, and the honours go to Nikolaus Diemannsberger with this “clean and lean” design:
Congratulations Nikolaus! We’ll be in touch via email to let you know how to claim your prize.
Thanks to everyone that took part in the competition over the three different rounds! It’s been a pleasure seeing your creativity at work.
