Reactions: 250K full gas at the Tour de France
When all was said and done, Matej Mohorič won stage 7 of the Tour de France solo, and Mathieu van der Poel (Alpecin-Fenix) kept yellow, but the peloton had been through the equivalent of a 12-round boxing match – 250 kilometers full gas.
The longest stage of the Tour in 21 years did not disappoint as the riders came out swinging from the start gun, finishing more than 20 minutes ahead of the fastest estimated time for the stage.
Judging by their tweets, there will be many tired and sore legs tomorrow. Enjoy!

@markcavendish doing a fantastic job at bringing me to the front in the battle for the break 🤘🏻Unfortunately I didn’t get a lot of wiggle room in the group but moved up to top 3 in gc 😂 I’m not sure how long I’ll remain there but let’s see how the legs are in the big mountains pic.twitter.com/0WUXBNAQZr— Kasper Asgreen (@k_asgreen) July 2, 2021
Another “close but no cigar” in my @letourdefrance stage hunting 😅🤦♂️!— Jasper Stuyven (@Jasperstuyven) July 2, 2021
Crazy day out there, 3 guys in the big front group and gave it my all, but @matmohoric was stronger, congrats pic.twitter.com/MPGIlzSe0T
