Demi Vollering (SD Worx) stormed to victory in the Women’s Tour stage 3 time trial, winning by over a minute. Hometown favourite Joss Lowden (Drops-Le Col s/b Tempur) finished third ahead of Leah Kirchmann (Team DSM).

The first-ever time trial in the Women’s Tour proved to be more technical and challenging than anticipated. Vollering won with a time of 23 minutes and 18 seconds over the 16.6 km course, with Lowden finishing 64 seconds slower.

Vollering’s speed was enough to secure her the leader’s jersey ahead of stage 4 from Shoeburyness to Southen-on-Sea. Team DSM’s Juliette Labous is one minute and nine seconds behind Vollering.
