Preview: What you need to know about stage 3 of the 2022 Vuelta a España

Another flat day in the Netherlands that will suit the sprinters.

by Matt de Neef

Date: Sunday August 21
Start: Breda
Finish: Breda
Distance: 193.5 km

The Vuelta’s Dutch visit ends with another stage for the sprinters. You know it’s a flat day when the stage’s only climb is a Cat 4 and it’s very nearly the highest point of the day at 25 metres above sea level!

Who’s it for: The sprinters again. Sam Bennett will look to double up as his comeback tour gets underway, while Tim Merlier will be determined to complete the Grand Tour stage trilogy, and he’ll hope that his Alpecin-Deceuninck teammates can find allies in the peloton after doing all the work on stage 2.
