As reported by Bicycle Retailer and Industry News (BRAIN), Amclassic Inc, the parent company of the American Classic wheel and component brand, has closed its Taiwan-based factory and laid off 40 employees in Taiwan and the U.S.
The company is reportedly in negotiations to sell its trademarks and other intellectual property. It’s currently unknown whether the American Classic brand will continue under new ownership.

Company co-owner Bill Shook will continue his design work on a consultancy basis away from the company he founded 35 years ago.
