Atlantic City set to host 2018 USA Crits series finals

The 2018 USA CRITS series will peak with a $100,000 purse and final points competition at the Atlantic City Resurgence Fest Criterium on September 15. Confirmed on Thursday, 20 of the country’s elite men’s and women’s cycling teams will be competing there, battling for both the series-ending purse and also a one-day prize list of $50,000 awarded by the race organizers.

“We are excited to bring professional racing back to Atlantic City and to showcase the dynamic transformation taking place in this historic American destination,” said Ryan Oelkers of g4 Productions, director of the Atlantic City Resurgence Fest Criterium.

The series will begin in Athens, Georgia on April 29. It features American-style criteriums, which the Atlantic City Resurgence Fest Criterium organisers describe as ‘the most spectator-friendly and enduring form of bicycle racing in the country.’

There will be eleven races in all, with the #racefororange series culminating with teams lining out at the historic Steel Pier on the Atlantic City Boardwalk. Each of the series events will be streamed on the membership-based

The Atlantic City Resurgence Fest Criterium will be part of a city-wide weekend festival that includes live band performances, food and beer offerings, and an outdoor demo and expo. There will also be a recreational ride, amateur racing, and an end-of-the-season banquet for D1 teams, sponsors, and media.
