As already confirmed by the team, double Tour de France runner-up Nairo Quintana and Alejandro Valverde will head the Movistar squad in this year’s race, but the rest of the lineup has now been announced.
The Spanish team will be joined by Spaniards Imanol Erviti, Jonathan Castroviejo and Jesús Herrada, Costa Rican Andrey Amador, the German Jasha Sütterlin, Italy’s Daniele Bennati and the Colombian Carlos Betancur.
The latter is one of the most unpredictable riders in pro cycling due to struggles with weight and motivation, but has shown strong form in recent weeks. He is a double Paris-Nice winner and if he remains on form and focussed, could be a key ally for Quintana and Valverde.
