Italian Barbara Guarischi (Canyon-SRAM) has claimed victory in the 15th edition of the EPZ Omloop van Borsele, sprinting to victory from a large group of pre-race favourites. Floortje Mackaij (Liv-Plantur) was second while Christine Majerus (Boels-Dolmans) took the final step on the podium.
A group of some 22 riders began the final 10km circuit together, having split off from the field in the Dutch race. Winner of the 2013 edition, Vera Koedooder (Parkhotel Valkenburg), attempted to get away solo in the closing kilometres, as too did Lucinda Brand (Rabo-Liv) but the 136.8km race was destined to end in a bunch sprint.
