The teammates who will back 2016 Tour de France runner-up Romain Bardet in this year’s Tour de France have been announced. Already confirmed were Axel Domont, Pierre Latour, Mathias Frank Alexis Vuillermoz and the new Belgian road race champion Oliver Naesen; they were joined on Monday by three others, namely Jan Bakelants, Ben Gastauer and Cyril Gautier.
Samuel Dumoulin has been named as a reserve, and will step forward if one of the other nine are injured or ill.
Bardet finished four minutes and five seconds behind Chris Froome (Team Sky) in last year’s race. He also won stage 19.
