Buchanan comments on lack of bike brand, undergoes surgery

by CyclingTips

Multiple BMX and mountain biking world champion Caroline Buchanan has enjoyed considerable success, but announced on Wednesday that she has not secured a bike brand for the current season. She commented on the situation via her Instagram account, thanking the companies which have backed her, but also making clear that she believes she warrants more support.

?? NO BIKE BRAND FOR 2018 ?? To these amazing brands tagged who power me towards my goals I want to say thankyou! I believe the current state of the Industry is in a transition stage, the frustrating part is apparently I don’t fit the mold! I am never going to devalue my worth and ability to do what I do, JUST becasue that’s how the industry is at the moment. _______________________________________________________ ??I’m not JUST a bmxer or JUST a mountain biker….I am a multiple Olympian, multiple discipline cycling world champion, a role model and game changer! ??I’m not JUST going to ride 1 bike and sell 1 bike….I am going to ride everything, dominate and love the 2 wheel journey whilst inspiring mothers , fathers sons and daughters to fall in love with bikes! ?? I’m not JUST going to do one race circuit… I’m going to enjoy racing bmx events, mountain bike events, invitationals, iconic events, whilst qualifying my way to another Olympic Games in 2020. Why be JUST?…..Thats not me, I’m going to be the change, break the decreasing pay-cut cycle and say “no that’s not good enough” Taking this leap with no bike brand behind me! Wheather a bike brand sees my diverse value for 2019, For now I’m going to continue moving forward with my amazing sponsors tagged and stay true with my passion and curiosity alive #livingtheride on my black beauty’s! ????
