After finishing third at the Omloop van Borsele a day earlier, five-time Luxembourg champion Christine Majerus (Boels-Dolmans) climbed two steps higher on the podium at Dwaars door de Westhoek on Sunday.
An elite nine-rider group broke clear of the rest of the field before reaching the finish in Boezinge as a group of seven. Majerus outsprinted her breakaway companions, taking her first individual victory of the year ahead of Elena Cecchini (Canyon-SRAM) and Emma Johansson (Wiggle-High 5). Australia’s Kat Garfoot (Orica-AIS) was fourth.
Marianne Vos crashed in the final sprint after getting tangled up in the barriers (see image above and video below).
