Crowdfunding campaign for cycling craft beer exceeds expectations

by VeloClub

The recent crowdfunding campaign for the Dutch cycling-themed craft beer à Bloc has exceeded its target by more than 60 percent, with over €244,000 pledged. The campaign was launched by Daan van Well and Martijn Snelder in January, expanding on a concept the came up with in 2014.

According to the company, 105 investors have pledged more than an average €2,300 each for the project.

“Raising money through crowdfunding was a big deal for us,” said Van Well. “We’re pleased to have been able to mobilise a peloton of over 100 investors and brand ambassadors. We’re grateful for their confidence and for the support for what we’re doing with à Bloc. The funds raised allow us to bring à Bloc to the next level and roll out in the Netherlands, Australia and the United Kingdom as planned.”

The beer has already been launched in Australia at the Santos Tour Down Under, and in the UK at the London Bike Show.
