by CyclingTips

A 27-year-old male cyclist was airlifted to Melbourne’s Alfred Hospital on Friday night after being involved in a hit-run crash on Main Ridge on the Mornington Peninsula.

The incident occurred on Shands Road at roughly 6pm on Friday night and it is alleged the driver involved fled the scene after hitting the rider. The driver, a 69-year-old woman from Flinders, has subsequently been arrested and is assisting police with their inquiries.

The cyclist is believed to be in a critical condition after suffering leg, arm and head injuries.
