Dombrowski to rethink approach after disappointing season

by CyclingTips

Cannondale-Drapac rider Joe Dombrowski told VeloNews he is looking for a fresh start after being unable to deliver on his potential during the 2017 season. A former Baby Giro and Tour of Utah winner, he moved to the team in 2015 and has been under its guidance since then.

However, following a knee injury, plus issues with his training, he was unable to shine this year and wants to rethink his approach.

“JV’s [Jonathan Vaughters] coached me the last couple of years now, and we changed a lot in my training this year. And if I’m honest I think it just plain didn’t work,” he said. “I’m not trying to pin the blame on him cause it’s certainly not.”

He said that he plans to use the offseason to analyse what went right and what went wrong, and to make adjustments.
