After being squeezed off the calendar in favour of the reintroduced women’s Amstel Gold Race, the Emakumeen Bira has been moved and will be held from May 17-21 in 2017.

The five-day UCI 2.1-classified race, held in Spain’s Basque Country, is one of the most important and longest-running stage races on the elite women’s calendar.

Previous winners include Emma Johansson (2013 and 2016), Marianne Vos (2008 and 2011), Kasia Niewiadoma (2015) and Pauline Ferrand-Prevot (2014).
