Fabio Taborre given four-year ban for doping

by CyclingTips

The UCI announced a four-year ban for Fabio Taborre (Androni Giocattoli) out of his positive test for the blood-boosting drug FG-4592 in 2015.

“The Anti-Doping Tribunal found the rider guilty of an anti-doping rule violation (presence of FG-4592) and imposed a 4-year period of ineligibility on the rider,” said a statement.

“In accordance with the Procedural Rules of the Anti-Doping Tribunal, the reasoned decision will shortly be published on the UCI website.”

Taborre’s positive came just two days after his teammate Davide Appollonio tested positive for EPO, and was given a four-year ban last month.

Taborre has always maintained he was the victim of sabotage.
