Frank leaves Tour de Suisse

by CyclingTips

IAM Cycling’s Mathias Frank departed the Tour de Suisse before stage five due to an illness he was fighting from a previous race.

A statement from the team said he was still recovering from a complicated illness that was a mix of bronchitis and a sinus infection.

The team had high hopes for a GC result in their home race with Frank, particularly with the team stopping after this season.

However, DS Rik Verbrugghe said the health of Frank, as well as long-term goals of the Tour de France, justified the decision to keep Frank from racing ill.
