Garmin shifts to sponsor multiple cycling teams

by CyclingTips

While Garmin no longer has a title sponsorship with a professional cycling team, after ending that with the WorldTour team managed by Slipstream Sports, it will continue to be present in the professional peloton with multiple teams.

Garmin will continue as a product sponsor for the Cannondale Pro Cycling team, as well as the Movistar team. It is also adding the Lampre-Merida team in the WorldTour. Additionally, Garmin will support the mountain biking teams Trek Factory Racing and LUNA Pro Team.

After stepping back from naming sponsorship over the past two years, it was unclear if Garmin would continue to financially support professional cycling.

“We are extremely excited to continue strong involvement in professional cycling with our support of these five teams,” said Jon Cassat, Garmin vice president of communications.

“We have long been a leader of cycling technology and we are proud to provide our cutting edge products for training and race day as teams Cannondale, Movistar, Lampre-Merida, Trek Factory Racing and LUNA Pro race throughout the season.”
