by CyclingTips

Adding insult to injury for FDJ’s Alexandre Geniez, the French rider was forced to abandon the Giro d’Italia after another crash on stage 4.

Geniez was fined 200 Swiss Francs after a verbal altercation with Hubert Dupont (AG2R-La Mondial) at the conclusion of stage 3 that was captured by fans.

The crash was Geniez’s second in three days, and involved an injury to his wrist.
